What’s wrong with this?

Note to self: Stop landing on your heel! P.S: The time on the board in NOT my half marathon time. Please deduct 8 hours and 4.12 min P.P.S. I didn’t land like this all the time:

Adizero Feather: Updated review

Posted on by Laurits Fischer-Hansen Posted in Running | 2 Comments

So I have finally had a few more miles on the Adidas Adizero Feather (That is a loooong name) and can update my review that I did a few weeks back. Feel: After my initial few runs I did feel that the sole of shoe was a bit stiff, but that had definitely changed for the better after 30 miles in it. It is still quite springy and stiff, but it no longer feels like a hindrance when you run. …

Brain overload

My brain can’t decide. Are these the coolest looking frame ever or are they just plain disgusting? They are made by the British frame builder Pearson that apparently is the oldest bike shop in the world… They paint schemes however doesn’t show that is the case.

New training regime

Posted on by Laurits Fischer-Hansen Posted in Biking | 2 Comments

So my running/cycling season is over. But that doesn’t mean that I will just stay on the couch doing nothing for the next couple of months. 2011 has been good to me with regards to training and results. I have done triathlons, half marathons and set PR’s on 5k, 10k and half marathon. Next year I will hopefully see even more competitions and more PR’s, but in order to get there I need to stay fit and improve aspects of …

Race report – AC marathon 2011

Posted on by Laurits Fischer-Hansen Posted in Running | Leave a comment

At last I had some time to write my race report from my half marathon in Atlantic City. I arrived together with my family to AC Saturday at 5.30pm and was in a bit of a tight spot with regards to picking up my package as the pickup closed at 6pm. So I hurried to the Bally’s casino 5.50 only to find a 300 feet line of people also being close to being a little late for their pickup. However …

The 2011 numbers are in

Posted on by Laurits Fischer-Hansen Posted in Biking, Running | Leave a comment

This Sunday my “2011 season” is over! From Monday and the next couple of months I will move slowly into a more winter oriented training schedule that entails a lot of core work and a lot of swimming with the occasional run/bike ride thrown in, in order to keep me sane. With that in mind I had a look at my training log for the last 10 months. I have kept track of most of my training with my trustworthy …

Victory Salutes

Nice video that made me laugh quite a bit. The problem is of course that I would never get to use it since I never will win any bicycle race, unless…perhaps its time to take my 6 year old boy out and do a race with him. “Golden Tree” by Martin Brooks from Ninian Doff on Vimeo.

Useless stuff

Posted on by Laurits Fischer-Hansen Posted in Biking, Running | 2 Comments

I like to read a lot of magazines on running/cycling/triathlon: Triathlete, Running Times, Paved, Peloton (My favorite right now) to name a few. I am always amazed at the last sections of some of the magazines: The Classifieds/Marketplace. The amount of crap that is advertized in those sections is huge! I looked through the latest edition of Triathlete which seems to be the magazine with the most extensive section. My top three crap things were. Note:I have nothing personal against …

Man – I hate tapering!

Posted on by Laurits Fischer-Hansen Posted in Running | Leave a comment

The worst part of training towards a race isn’t the hard workouts. I actually like the 1000m intervals, the 10k tempo runs and the consistent slow pace of the long runs. I like putting on my running/cycling/swim clothes everyday and go for my training session. Hell – I even like the feeling of my lungs about to pop out of my chest and the blood taste in my mouth after that last sprint around the local 400m track. All those …
