Sorry guys and girls – no update this week. I am spending the week in Vermont, rocking my ski moves.
January is over and its time to get back in the saddle after a few months of non-stop strength training and swimming. To get started I headed to Coach Draper’s 7am Saturday CompuTrainer class with my trusted old BMC Timemachine for a threshold test. I hadn’t really been on a bike since October, so I was pretty interested in seeing where I was from a fitness perspective. The test was simple: 30 min warm up building power so I would … →
Most days, I look forward to my training sessions. Sometimes it’s what is immediately in front of me that motivates me: A nice warm summer day when I can’t wait getting on my bike, cruising around the beautiful areas of New Jersey (yes – they are there). I haven’t had a thorough look at the 2013 season yet, but when the New Jersey state triathlon announced that it was going to be the Mid-Atlantic regional championship for 2013 I just had to sign up
My December was pretty terrible from a training perspective. I couldn’t shake the flu I had and going a week to Spain didn’t exactly help. I brought running clothes, cycling kit and swim trunks to Spain. After 7 days they hadn’t been taken out of the bag yet…
I’m off to Spain and the Team Novo Nordisk training camp in Valencia – I know life is hard… I’ll be back net week. Until then – get out and train…
I ended the 2012 season with a fair swim condition but still far away from where I want to be in 2013. After a full November without any swim sessions, I met up with Coach Draper for a swim evaluation, that would set the structure for my winter swim training.
